We wouldn’t design a car without safety embedded in the ‘blueprint'. This day-long workshop will help you be ‘safe by design’ with the right systems in place to prevent misconduct, and if and when an incident does occur, to deal with it appropriately.

Fiona Williams, a highly regarded safeguarding consultant working with ACFID members in Australia and globally, will facilitate this interactive workshop. Fiona has developed user-friendly Child Safeguarding Toolkits for organisations, including recently for Oxfam Australia and Australian Volunteers International (AVI); developed safeguarding guidance and policy for the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) in Australia; and in 2015 was appointed a member of the expert panel for the child safe organisation study commissioned by the Australian Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.

She has also worked with Pacific governments to develop safeguarding programs.
